COVID-19 UPDATE 8.5.2020
Thank you for your ongoing patience and support as we navigate the coronavirus pandemic. As always, the safety and well-being of our Residents and team is our priority. Over the past week, all Residents in Derfer Pavilion, Leeward Manor, and Nancy House were tested for COVID-19. Results for all Residents have been received, and fortunately, there have been no additional positive cases identified. The designated COVID isolation unit continues to offer a dedicated area for those Residents who tested positive to receive care and treatment safely.
Team member testing continues on a weekly basis for those working in Derfer Pavilion and bi-weekly for team members in other areas of our community. There was 1 new staff member positive case in Leeward Manor and 1 Home Health team member. Through contact tracing of previous positive cases, they had been self-isolating at home due to exposure.
Governor Ron DeSantis visited Jacksonville yesterday and shared that he has begun exploring the possibility for family members who test positive for COVID-19 antibodies to visit their loved ones in skilled nursing and assisted living communities. We are aware of his comments and appreciate him exploring this opportunity. However, we do still remain under his previous order which does restrict visitation at this time. We will be sure to continue to monitor developments around visitation opportunities and share information as it becomes available.
