COVID-19 UPDATE 7.21.20
As we shared yesterday, and you may have learned, media outlets incorrectly reported that a COVID-19 death occurred at Fleet Landing last week. Their report was based on information shared by the Florida Department of Health. There have been no COVID-19 related deaths at Fleet Landing. We have been in contact with the Florida Department of Health to investigate the accuracy of the report.
The 3 Residents, whom we previously reported had tested positive for the coronavirus and were transported to Northeast Florida’s designated COVID facility, continue to be asymptomatic and are doing well. Two of the 3 Residents are scheduled to return to Fleet Landing. The third Resident will return upon receipt of negative COVID-19 test results per CDC guidance.
Through our ongoing testing efforts, Fleet Landing identified one additional team member, who works in our Home Health department, positive for COVID-19. They are currently self-isolating at home per CDC regulations. Contact tracing has been completed and those who have come into contact with this team member have all tested negative for the illness. Each of the team members who previously tested positive have been cleared to return to work per CDC guidance. To date, Fleet Landing has administered nearly 2,300 COVID-19 tests to Residents and team members. The positive test rate for Fleet Landing continues to be below .45%, which favors comparably to current rates in our county and state. While we are never happy to report a positive test result, we continue to be encouraged that our efforts to minimize the impact of the pandemic on our community have been effective.
Fleet Landing maintains our commitment to transparency and doing all in our power to protect the safety of our Residents and team members. Please do not hesitate to email contactus@fleetlanding.com with any questions or concerns. Thank you for your ongoing patience and support.
